Another 1881 enumeration district has now been uploaded, and that's ED3 from 1881. It's the area containing Park Bridge, Alt & Pitses and holds 263 families.

EDs 4 & 5 Knott Lanes 1881
The latest additions to the census transcription site are now up there.and available gratis
They are ED 4 & ED 5 of Knott Lanes 1881. Basically it's Bardsley, Park Bridge and Alt Hill.
This means that there is just one ED left before all of the censuses of 1841-1891 are are complete and that's Waterloo 1881. But it's massive. One I've been avoiding. Over 2000 people in that but I shall make a start shortly to complete it all.
My take on the water damaged records are there too with the advantage that I live locally and some names are familiar.
As usual you can view all of the transcriptions from www.c5d.co.uk/censuspages.php
Good Luck

The Final 1881 ED for Mossley has now been Uploaded
The final ED of the 1881 census of Mossley has now been uploaded to the Hurst web pages.
It's ED 17 and contains some 306 families totalling about 1700 entries altogether.
There is just one ED to complete before Hartshead has been completed in its entirety and that is the one for Wilshaw and Smallshaw.
As usual you can view this transcription free of charge from www.c5d.co.uk/censuspages.php.
When I have completed this one, I shall move to Stalybridge 1901 which is the only bit outstanding from that census. All of 1891 for both Hartshead and Knott Lanes being complete.
Good Luck and hopefully this transcription will be useful to someone.
