The latest upload to the site is the 1939 index of part of Stalybridge. It's ED LFVC and covers the Hague Estate plus part of Ridge Hill Lane.

The latest addition to the site is ED1V from the 1851 census of Ashton Town. Old Street, Wellington Street, Delamere Street and Mill Lane is the rectangle with Booth Street and Wych Street inside the rectangle.

Much of this is now shops. It was mixed business and residential area at that date.

This weekend saw the addition of ED2e from Audenshaw added to the site.

It covers Woodhouses, Crowhill, Lumn and Littlemoss.

Saturday, 10 October 2020

Latest Additions to the Web site are the 1851 census of Ashton Under Lyne, EDs 1t and 1u. Although known to be in poor condition, these were some of the worst censuses I have ever seen and anumber of the entries defeated my research abilities.

If you can add them, by all means let me know.

Also added is ED 2e from Audenshaw. Much of this area is now under Fairfield Reservoirs.

EDs2 to 6 of the 1841 Ashton Census now uploaded

EDs 2 to 6 have now been added to the 1841 census of Ashton page. It's what I'd call the West End these days. plus the new St Petersfield area. All can be viewed from c5d.co.uk/censuspages.php. There's just one ED to go now and that's the area from Ryecroft Square to the town boundary. Hopefully you'll find something that those very faint pages don't let you see. Good Luck Antony

ED 7, 8 & 9 now posted

Three more EDs from 1841 have been uploaded.

They cover the area from Mill Lane to Cock Brook south of but including Stamford Street and North of and including Park Parade and Whitelands. Cock Brook and and Whitelands was a film of very poor quality. I have done my best with this one.

Good Luck

c5d.co.uk/censuspages.php is the starting point as ever
