Census Updates

It's been a while since I posted any updates.

However since March the census pages have been expanded to include the whole of Hartshead for 1841, further 1851 and 1861 sub districts have been published and four of the six districts from 1911.

It's taken a lot of time but all that's there is free and viewable from

1841 Census of Hartshead

Another one complete for 1841. It's the Ridge Hill area and is ED 6

As usual it's available to all for nowt.

1911 Census of Hurst

The first bit of this s now done.

Hurst comprised of some 2000 families with about 8000 population altogether.

The first 600 families are now transcribed and listed.

Hartshead 1841 Census

There goes another ED !

Enumeration District 7 comprising Luzley, Heyrod, and Ridge Hill is now freely available to all.

There a good proportion of ED 3 for 1901 and a tiny bit of ED 5 for 1911

1841 Census of Hurst

Two More EDs have been added since my last update.

These are ED 8 & 9 which relate to the Scout Mill, Mossley Brow and the town, though then a Hamlet according to the census, of Mossley.

The 1891 Census of Hurst

This has now been completed in its entirety and I have started on 1901.

About 20% of the first ED of 6 is already available.
