Two More EDs Added to the Census Pages

A further two more EDs have now been added to the census pages.

ED 6 from 1871 which covers Ridge Hill Lanes and ED 9 from 1891 covering part of top Mossley,

Two fairly large EDs are now available both consisting of about 2100 people.

1861 Census of Hartshead Now Complete

With the transcription of ED1 of the 1861 census, all of the Sub District of Hartshead is now complete.  It's been a long job with summer and the various other things going on, but it's now done.

There are 8 outstanding EDs from 1871 now to work with !

Still 1841-1861 is all done.

1861 ED 2 is now completed

The rather large ED 2 covering Tenter Brow and Spring Street has now been completed and is freely availble to all.

There are about 400 families and 321 houses.

Only 1 ED to go now and 1861 will be completed.

1861 Census ED 3

I have now completed ED 3 of 1861 which covers Rassbottom Street, Wakefield Road etc.

There are 250 houses or so and these comprise some 1200 peopl.

The next two districts comprise 70 schedules so it may be a while till the next posting

Two More 1861 EDs Completed ED 4 & 5

Two more 1861 enumeration districts have now been completed. They are numbers 4 & 5; areas which covered the Ridghill, Cocker Hill and Wakefield Road areas of Stalybridge.

They incude some 480 families and about 2000 people.

1861 Census of Hurst ED 6 Now Completed

The holiday weekend has given me the opportunity to complete another ED from 1861. This time it's ED 6 covering, Souracre, and Heyrod plus the odd houses at Dukes Platting off Mossley Road.

There were 173 houses and it covered  179 families.

1861 Census ED 7 Hartshead Pike, Luzley & Mossley Cross

This ED has now been completed. It's a smaller one that the last massive district and comprised the area around Mossley Cross and Luzley.  About 900 folk in all.
